Empowerment is 

treading waters that seem treacherous to you, 

but are essential to someone’s well-being and livelihood.

It is standing up for things you believe in, 

even if people 

disagree,

mock, 

and try to dishonor you. 

Despite this

Empowerment is 

knowing you have so much in you, 

to enact a change 

that would lend a voice 

to all others who are silenced.
